Stuck in Vegas? Here's How to Get Help.

Las Vegas can be tough. Whether you're going through a rough patch, just arrived with nothing lined up, or life took a hard turn — this page is for you. Below you'll find real resources with real phone numbers for the most common emergencies people face in this city. Everything listed here is free or low-cost.

The single most important number to remember: Dial 2-1-1

Nevada 211 connects you to shelter, food, water, and services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You can call it, text your zip code to 898211, or visit NV211.org.

I Need Drinking Water

In the desert, water isn't optional — it's survival. Las Vegas heat regularly pushes past 110°F in summer, and dehydration can turn dangerous fast. Here's where to get water right now.

Cooling Stations

When the National Weather Service issues an excessive heat warning, Clark County activates cooling stations across the valley at recreation centers, libraries, and nonprofit facilities. These stations provide air conditioning, cold water, and sometimes meals or hygiene kits. Call or text 2-1-1 to find out which stations are currently open and where.

Courtyard Homeless Resource Center

314 Foremaster Lane — (702) 229-6117

Catholic Charities of Southern Nevada

1501 Las Vegas Blvd North — (702) 387-2282
Provides bottled water, and during summer months also offers hats, sunscreen, and lightweight clothing.

Public Libraries

Clark County Library District branches are open to the public and serve as unofficial cooling stations year-round. Walk in, sit down, and drink from the water fountains.

Outreach Teams

Multi-agency street teams patrol daily and distribute water bottles during hot months. If you're unsheltered and need water brought to you, call 2-1-1 and ask about mobile outreach in your area.
